White Sands National Monument

Ever since I found out about this place in New-Mexico, I wanted to go. This year it was on my itinerary, this park a National Monument is shared with the military at nearby Holloman AFB. I was there at seven when the gate opens, we were five cars all guys, all with tripods and camera gear waiting for the ranger, he arrived a few minutes late but was nice enought to wave the entry fee. As you drive in it slowly appears to you with the white dunes almost like snow drifts after a storm. There is lots of place to park and get out to take pictures. They even sell and maybe rent plastic flying saucers for the kids to slide on the dunes in the desert. For optimal shoots, make sure you use a polarising filter and shoot at 1/3 more exposure.

Depuis que le connaît cette endroit que j'ai le goût d'y allé, cette année il était sur mon chemin. A sept heures j'attendais a la barrière l'arrivé du Ranger avec cinq autres autos avec des gars avec cameras et équipement photo. Le sable a une haute teneur en talc ce qui lui donne sa couleur blanche et qui le rend un peu glissant, les enfants glissent sur les dunes en secoupes de plastique. Pour les photos il est important d'utilisé un filtre polarisant et d'ajouter un cran de 1/3 a son exposition.
